Bell Sport & Classic – Drive-in Movies & F1 Screenings

DISCIPLINE

Events – Consultancy & planning
Production – Screen hire & licenses

TEAM

Toni

Tonic was engaged by Bell Sport & Classic to provide consultancy and screen hire for their late summer Drive-in Events for customers and sponsors.

With major restrictions surrounding events over the summer, Tonic Collective pitched a drive-in event concept that delivered all the excitement of an event, whilst providing a safe environment in which to enjoy it. The drive-in events ran over two weekends in September with up to three screenings a day.

Tonic proposed and sourced an LED screen allowing for daytime as well as evening screenings. We provided advice, consultancy and layout planning. As well as the screen hire, we organised the Ofcom license and the tech for Q&A sessions. We even engaged a satellite engineer to create a pop up F1 Skybox.

AIM

Facilitate a Drive-in event programme that delivers the wow factor of a big screen with the flexibility to accommodate daytime and evening viewings.

‘The recent Drive-in events at Bell Sport & Classic were a huge success, especially due to the fantastic screen provided by Tonic Collective. All the advice and support in the lead up to our event made it seamless and stress-free – so thank you Toni and team. We received many comments from guests that this was the best screen they had seen at the many Drive-in events they had attended over summer. We will be back to hire again for all future events!’

Christmas at The Leadenhall Building – Savills

DISCIPLINE

Events – Devising a programme of seasonal events
Brand – Creating a snowflake design icon
Partnership – With Black Sheep Coffee
Production – Neon and festoon lighting
Styling – Theme creation and implementation

TEAM

Toni, Annlouise, Andy & Patrick

Tonic created a seasonal themed experience in the run up to Christmas to engage tenants and members of the public in activities and events underneath the Cheesegrater.

We created an 80’s neon themed après-ski experience with chalet bars serving vin chaud, mulled cider, donuts and beers in partnership with Black Sheep Coffee, retro ski simulators for head-to-head slalom racing, gift wrapping and an alpine cinema showing classic Christmas movie favourites.

Setting the scene with lit neon signs and festoon lighting, an old Corcheval cable car, snowy fir trees and warm sheepskin throws and fleeces.  We created a snowflake icon using the angles of the building to decorate wind breaks and escalator panels to give the impression that it was snowing.

Activity was scheduled over a four week period with a launch event attracting a large number of tenants, and good attendance at weekly movie screenings and acoustic band nights for ski racing.  A food market provided pop-up, alpine style food at lunch times and during event evenings.

AIM

Create an engaging seasonal programme of entertainment and events in the open event space beneath The Leadenhall Building.

“There are many reasons we’ve loved working with Toni and her team. Most importantly we get consistently glowing feedback from customers who attend Tonic organised projects”

Azerbaijan Tourism Board – Sanderson Hotel Event

DISCIPLINE

Events – Facilitating high end luxury PR event
Production – Mood lighting & Gif booth
Styling – Event theme, look & feel

TEAM

Toni, Al, Andy

Tonic was invited to turn around a last minute, high end, luxury event for press and influencers hosted by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board; a client of Hill + Knowlton Strategies.

With less than 2-weeks lead time, we worked with a professional stylist to create an event look and feel inspired by the contrast, diversity and rich culture of Azerbaijan, to capture the flavours, colours and vibrancy of the region whilst maintaining a minimalist, high end finish.

Soft lighting in Azerbaijani colours, rich vibrant textiles and velvet jewel coloured furnishings sat alongside back lit images of icy mountains and iconic Azerbaijani cityscapes. Lit plinths highlighted regional wines and a gif booth captured images for sharing.

AIM

Create colour, texture and interest within a blank canvas event space, bringing the vibrancy and rich heritage of Azerbaijan to life.

“You are wonder women!  The event was amazing.  Thanks!”

National Camping and Caravanning Week (NCCW) PR Stunt

Caravan stunt & party

To celebrate the Centenary of the caravan, the CCC wanted to locate a caravan in an unusual, limited-access, central London location so that TV celebrity and CCC president, Julia Bradbury could spend the night.

To gain media coverage in national press and lifestyle publications, the PR stunt needed to be both unique in its approach and generate interesting visual content. We undertook several weeks of venue research leaving no stone unturned to find the optimum location including many London roof tops and unusual spaces, before finally creating a campsite on a barge, and floating it down the Thames.
We managed all the consultations with Port of London Authority and logistics for barge dressing and press activity scheduling.

The barge moored up by Tower Bridge, providing a spectacular backdrop of iconic London landmarks. Press were hosted on board at the campsite during the day, and in the evening, there was a party attended by TV celebrities Eamonn Holmes, Jenni Falconer and Christopher Biggins as well as CCC members and industry representatives.

The coverage received was at record levels for NCCW in terms of audience reached, quality of title and AVE with stories in This is Money ‘Mail Online’, The Mirror, The Express, Hello and Evening Standard to name a few.

AIM

Drive awareness and media coverage for the centenary year of the caravan ahead of NCCW.

“We worked with the Tonic team for National Camping and Caravanning Week, which is a major awareness campaign and calendar event for the Club. And it was one of our most successful yet. Paul, John and the Tonic team were great to work with, had a close eye on the detail and, importantly, had results and analytics always in mind. There was also a can-do approach, a sense of urgency when required and a determination to see the job through.”

Accouter FOUR launch party reception

Accouter FOUR, Accouter Design’s fourth luxury lifestyle publication, features the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge, so there was a natural synergy to host the launch party in the Rolls-Royce showroom in Mayfair.

The showroom was cleared to create a New York Gallery style event space with white plinths to showcase luxury design pieces that inspired the designs featured in the publication.

A colour palate of rose gold and soft pink touches created with lighting and florals lent a convivial feel to the space whilst a live band, canapés and champagne provided by drinks partner Perrier-Jouët, enlivened the event. Over 100 guests attended including the most admired names in property, architecture and interior design.

AIM

Showcase the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge inspired design feature within a setting conducive to creating a launch event.

“Tonic coordinated a showstopper of an event for our elite clients and interior and architectural enthusiasts for our book launch, AccouterFOUR.
